Hungary - Wine weekend

Budapest

It was Thursday, I think when we decided to spend the weekend in Budapest. Weather-wise: perfect, time-wise: no duties and mood-wise: go for it! After everything had been booked, I decided to check out if there's anything special happening in the city - and strike Budapest Rosé Festival!
Our plan for Saturday was therefore as clear as that day's sky. Of course, we decided to walk - oh, it was a long walk and I wore sandals that were not really that comfy, well tbh I was happy when we sat down :D. The Rosé Festival took place in the city park near the gorgeous Vajdahunyad Castle - people on rented pedalos were everywhere - but we were thirsty :D so no pedalo this time...
The entry was (I'm guessing because we bought the tickets in advance online) somewhat around 1500 HUF which was basically the price for the glasses. All the samples (sounds much classier, doesn't it? ;)) were extra.
What I liked there:
- they had different designs of glasses, even some "couple glasses" (sold out :D), it's a nice souvenir, you can remember that you don't remember anything.
- the samples were quite cheap, one sample cost around 2 EUR (average)
- the park was huge so despite the crowds, it didn't feel crowded at all.
- the food was amazing, there was a wide range of options, some traditional Hungarian ones and some street food style contemporary hyped hipster choices :D I remember that we liked everything we chose however, I can't tell you what we had simply because the wine is a powerful memory-loss tool :D
- the last (but not least) thing that was exceptional was that it was amazingly well organised - when we had trouble buying tickets online, they advised how to do it and were really nice and helpful. Then you could also buy a prepaid "festival card" with some money and therefore you did not need any cash/card (this has so many advantages, I won't even list them)
- then there came thunder, which is fun when you're tipsy/drunk - everybody hid (you could see that in our Insta story), we did as well - which was good for the business as there was nothing else to do, but to drink more :D What I was getting to though, is that when it stopped raining, festival staff appeared out of nowhere with some rags and water scrapers and dried tables and benches and people could sit down the minute it stopped raining. Well done!
For the way back, we bought a bottle of Maczkó which is some kind of pun (founder's surname and the diminutive for bear I guess) and they have this cute symbol of a bear on their bottles. It's impossible to rate the wine considering that our taste receptors weren't in a working condition :D however, they get 10 points for design!
For some unknown reason we had a really slow Sunday morning :D Me being me (meaning annoying :D) I suggested to go out for breakfast. We TA-ed some options and chose Cirkusz. On our way there we saw some places with people queuing outside and only hoped that this wasn't our case in Cirkusz. Hope and hunger were two last things we had when we took our place in the queue :D Telchac was sceptical, while I waited in line, he went to check out other options :D But again me being stubborn (and annoying :D) we waited...and waited...we could see people eating through the windows...and we waited some more...but then we got a table! Everything looked amazing, there were just the two of us but Telchac seemed to be ordering for 3 - 4 people :D (I am not complaining since I got some French toast - delicious!). Btw the prices were reasonable, when we left we realised that in fact, it was quite cheap. Perfect start of the day!
Then we went to see at least something touristy - the Fisherman's Bastion. It was beautiful, lots of people, yes, but beautiful. I did not get what more you can see if you buy the ticket. Are you one floor up? Are there fewer people? I am full of questions and no answers. Nevertheless, the view (if you ignore the crane) was awesome! There was a change of the guards which we got to see by chance but it was nice.
This was our short stay in Budapest - btw there's Redbull Air Race these days which looks pretty great, so if you're in Budapest by any chance, let us know if it was worth going to. Next week, we'll throwback to our last year's Cote d'Azur trip. CU there!

Am I a princess? Is this my castle?

Bit crowded ;)
