Cote d'Azur - Part 1 - Itinerary

Savoir Vivre

Welcome back to our next post. You may have already noticed, at least I hope so, that from the two of us, I am more of a map person than Hojancha is. But that's good because this way we complement each other when planning our trips. I often browse maps, regions or countries just for the sheer pleasure of browsing. Maybe I just subconsciously try to find some other places where we could walk hand in hand and enjoy each other the same way we do every day at home.

Let's get back on track. The dates of this trip overlapped with Hojancha's birthday. Not accidentally ;) of course. We wanted to spend it somewhere nice, close to the sea and with a lot of sunshine. Flight to Nice lasted mere 2 hours and there we were on the Cote d'Azur in a cosy, comfy place enjoying eclairs and tartelettes aux framboises, sipping Champagne and soaking our faces in the sun facing the Mediterranean Sea.

We have planned our "jet set" for 5 days and decided to explore the hidden as well as the famous places of this part of France. Yeah, I know Monaco is not France, please excuse the simplification :).

Right after we arrived in Nice we rented a car and rode to our "headquarters" for the upcoming days. We had picked a bit secluded location between Saint Raphael and Cap Esterel that allowed us to expore the region as well as to rest, sunbath and swim in the sea. We split our days into two parts, we relaxed till 2-3 pm and the afternoons and evenings were "determined" for walks, culture, restaurants or amusement. This way we discovered the beauty of Saint Raphael, Antibes, Cannes or Monte Carlo among others. You can really look forward to reading more detailed posts about our stay in one of the most acclaimed locations in Europe.
Useful tip: Parking can be tricky in all places along the Cote d'Azur so allow yourself some time before heading off to explore the parking possibilities at your desired destination.
