Cote d'Azur - Part 3 - All yachts everywhere

Antibes & Monte-Carlo

We spent the next two days in Côte d'Azur in the same way - breakfast, pool & sunbathing and then a little trip. As the title suggests one day the destination was Antibes and the other it was the famous Monte-Carlo.
Antibes - another port town where you can admire the yachts all day long. But if (or when) you eventually get tired of that, you can also check out the Nomad and the typical narrow streets lined with flowers. I don't have to tell you which street or where to go because these are everywhere and in whichever direction you choose to take, I'm sure you will find amazing places to admire.

Our Monte-Carlo trip was a lot more eventful than Antibes. We started it in the Jardin Exotique de Monaco because I read (of course, on the TA) that the view is the best there (and it really was). You can see the town, the port and all the amazing plants and cactuses. The parking's not that far, around 500 metres a bit uphill (I made it in heels so nothing dramatic). You can also visit a cave there unless you are not wearing heels ;).
From there on we went to the port to just sit back and relax for a while. On our way there we walked onto the movie set - almost :D they were shooting a scene of historic Monaco Grand Prix, all actors and extras wearing vintage clothes, vintage cars everywhere so despite my feet killing me at that time I stood there and watched because we simply couldn't leave.
At 8pm and before heading back to the hotel we started considering our dinner options. The decision was to find a small shop and buy some baguettes, cheeses and wine - local, cheesy (literally) and fun. It might seem easy now, but try finding an ordinary shop in Monaco - there are tons of high fashion stores but hardly one grocery store. It was 8:30pm when we located Carrefour - perfect! When trying to find a parking lot we found ourselves in a gigantic garage with several trucks. After a minute - I am reminding you about our tiny Adam, it must have looked so funny! - we realised that this is neither a garage nor meant for normal cars. Instead, it was a place for goods delivery :D. So we left the car next to the sidewalk as close to the store as possible hoping we still find it when we came back (we did). We ran in, took everything and ran out. Just after that we sat in a car and ate oranais aux abricots - our starter.
In an hour you could see us opening the bottle of wine and eating cheese and ham on our balcony. M-A-G-I-C-A-L!!!
Useful tip: If you're not from Russia or other cold country and/or you do mind cold sea, do not come here at the beginning of July. The sea is somewhat icy and you will scream like a little girl when going in. On the other hand, one Russian guy seemed pretty happy about it, he spent an hour swimming (we were out within 10 minutes and we screamed a lot when getting in).
Wherever you are now, I hope you're enjoying the summer or winter to the best of your ability (we have just finished cinnamon donut after having Erdbeeren Knodel and Falafel wrap before that). If you're following us on IG you know where we are. If not, then you should :D Or maybe you'll read about it here. Not next week though, next week I'll take you to Valencia. CU there!
